I used to think that being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame actually meant something, but with the recent 2007 induction of the Sugar Hill Gang , I've come to realize that nothing is sacred any more. I'm sorry but I didn't pick up the guitar becuase a rap group inspired me. No, guys like Jimmy Page, Randy Rhoads, Slash, and Zakk Wylde made me want to play. Just the fact that a rap group has infiltrated the ranks of R&R hall of fame is a joke. This, to me, has nullified any reason for the hall of fame. Lets see if they honor Black Sabbath and the next "hip hop" honors. Actually, it would make more sense for rock artists to be recognized by the rap genre, considering they've ripped off so many of them. Nope, I could care less who is honored or inducted anymore, like everything else, the Rock and Roll Hall of fame, has become co-opted for commercial reasons and they've become emersed in the pop culture sewage that has drowned the American media market.
